I create spaces where stories emerge through shared authorship —where students, audiences, and communities shape the narrative. From outreach programs in New York to contemporary media education in the UK and a film festival in Mexico, my work fosters creative energy across borders. Each project becomes a bridge —linking tradition with innovation, learning with making. Through collaboration and dialogue, we explore together how media and the arts can connect people not only to each other, but to the deeper questions that move us all.

“Coordinating International Relations at New York Film Academy, I supported upcoming filmmakers. When I write that I've worked in over twenty countries, it was mostly through NYFA. As program leader for BA (Hons) Contemporary Media Practice at Arts University Plymouth, I started outreach projects: Media Lab, MIXarts, and Ulysses. Coordinating media for Crossing Stages Universidad Carlos III de Madrid arts project co-funded by the European Union, I coordinated media work that received international recognition. Directing Cancun Riviera Maya International Film Festival, we built a ground-breaking project in Southeast Mexico. Developing Espacio Cine [Film Space], we introduced film in Televisa’s Espacio, main university media event in Latin America.” — PV I Photo: PV I Crsossing Stages European Project UC3M: Jesús Antón

“What makes the work interesting is if you choose the right questions.”

“Innovation has been a guiding line of work reshaping the landscape of media and the arts through cross-cultural collaboration, cutting-edge education, and vision across global platforms. With a deep commitment to interdisciplinary thinking and future-facing storytelling, each role undertaken has served as a canvas to reimagine the way media is created, taught, and experienced.

NEW YORK FILM ACADEMY, US I As International Relations director, outreach work was at the heart of building strategic alliances across countries —with focus in Ibero America— promoting immersive film education through programs blending profesional-standard production with diverse international voices. This role involved pioneering partnerships that brought global talent into dialogue with NYFA's world-class resources, expanding the school’s multicultural reach, including universities, film schools, and media.

ARTS UNIVERSITY PLYMOUTH, UK I As BA (Hons) Contemporary Media Practice program leader, the new degree was designed to meet the challenges of a digital, post-linear media environment. By integrating experimental practices, emerging technologies, and critical theory, the course was transformed into a dynamic hub where students were empowered to push boundaries across filmmaking, perforning arts, interactive artwork, and more, fostering a new generation of hybrid creatives.

UNIVERSIDAD CARLOS III DE MADRID, Spain I Serving as European Arts Project media director, Crosing Stages, innovation meant merging a range of approaches to stagecraft —mainly through dance workshops— with multimedia experimentation. Through installations, digital art, and transmedia storytelling, the project reimagined the boundaries of performaning arts in higher education, amplifying voices from five countries across Europe and weaving media into the very fabric of live art, and the project itself.

CANCUN RIVIERA MAYA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, Mexico I As Film Festival director, distinctive work involved positioning this new event as both a regional and global showcase for bold cinematic voices. Curating programs that highlighted operas primas, eco-cinema, and new narratives, the festival evolved into a cultural bridge connecting emerging Latin American filmmakers with global industry leaders and audiences. It was featured in over 2000 articles/notes in 200 media internationally.

TELEVISA, Mexico I Working as Film/TV Event director, Espacio Cine (Film Space), innovation was embedded in curating/coordinating a workshop that functioned as a vital forum for discovery and development within Latin America's largest media network. By creating spaces for dialogue between students, creators, and industry professionals, it explored the intersection of broadcast media and independent cinema. More than 20.000 university students attended Espacio each year..” — PV

Rethinking Media and the Arts

This career reflects a consistent drive to rethink media and the arts through global engagement, interdisciplinary education, and bold creative leadership. Working across universities, festivals, and cultural institutions each role has contributed to building meaningful connections between diverse artistic communities and emerging technologies. The journey took place in New York, Madrid, Mexico City, and the UK, spanning a total of over 20 countries.

From academic innovation —such as launching a forward-thinking media program in the UK and directing media in a European arts project— to fostering Ibero American partnerships at a major US film academy, the focus has been on expanding access, collaboration, and experimentation. These initiatives have empowered new generations of artists and thinkers to create beyond conventional languages.
— External Review
At the intersection of culture and industry, leading a film festival and an audiovisual event in Mexico has opened space for fresh voices and regional narratives to connect with international audiences. Through curatorial vision and strategic coordination, these platforms have served as bridges between independent creation, academic environments, and professional media landscapes.
