Navigating Digital Journeys
“In Pedro Valiente’s web-based projects design, storytelling, and experimentation merge. Through curated online platforms, each work becomes a digital space that extends the reach of his art research and visual narratives. From mythic reinterpretations to multimedia installations and European collaborations, these sites are evolving works of art in their own right —offering immersive, thought-provoking experiences.
Flying Fish Work (2019-2025) Portfolio, serves as the central hub for Valiente’s interdisciplinary work, encompassing film, photography, digital art, and installations. This site blends art expression with academic exploration, offering a cohesive narrative that bridges various media and themes. Through Flying Fish Work, Valiente invites to engage with a range of projects that inspire dialogue.
You Are Mythical (2015-2018) Film, is a transmedia documentary that intertwines fiction, animation, video art, and performance. The film explores how seven artists connect their daily lives with classic myths, offering a modern reinterpretation of timeless tales. Shot across multiple countries and languages, it has garnered international recognition, including awards in two film festivals in Los Angeles.
Penelope is Waiting (2015-2018) Installation, is a videoart work that reimagines the myth of Penelope, focusing on themes of waiting, memory, and evolution. Through a fuse of visual art and performance, i’s an immersive experience that invites to reflect on the passage of time and the enduring nature of hope. The team behind this project shows ability to merge mythology with contemporary arts.
Crossing Stages (2013-2015) European Project, coordinated by Univeersidad Carlos III de Madrid, is a collaborative European initiative that brings together artists, scholars, and students to explore classical myths through modern artistic expressions. As communication director, Valiente coordinated media work that received international recognition. The project spanned multiple countries, fostering cross-cultural dialogue.
The Barbaric Country (2013) University Project, produced in Innovation Week at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico, dives into the concept of 'the barbaric' in Chihuahua State’s culture —and in contemporary society— challenging perceptions and encouraging critical discourse. Through a combination of visual art, writing, and digital media, the site examines the intersections of culture, identity, and otherness in Northern Mexico.
Together, these digital projects embody Valiente’s view of art as a multifaceted search of human experience. They all act as portals —bridging the classical and the contemporary, the visual and the conceptual. By navigating these online spaces, viewers are invited into a creative world where stories unfold with depth, clarity, and poetic resonance.” Site I Behance I EXTERNAL REVIEW
